Pier 39
This 45-acre historic waterfront complex is San Francisco’s number one bay attraction. The Pier offers a lot of shopping, great dining, beautiful landscaping, attractions and street performers. They have special events happening all year including, the Tulipmania, where they have displays of different colorful tulips, 4th of July celebration, Pumpkin Pandemonium and others.
At Pier 39, you have a scenic view of all that San Francisco has to offer, such as the Golden Gate Bridge, Bay Bridges, the famous Fisherman’s Wharf, of course the Alcatraz and the beautiful San Francisco skyline.
There’s so much to see and places to go within the pier. There’s something for everyone. Take the children to the Aquarium of the Bay, watch the sea lions play in the bay, see a show, or simply watch the street performers do their juggling acts and magic tricks among others.
You can go on an hour bay cruise or go to Angel Island to hike, ride a bike or just relax aboard the Blue and Gold Fleet Ferry. Enjoy the bay view and have fun with the recreational activities, Angel Islands has to offer.
Children and adults alike will enjoy the Frequent Flyer. For a small fee of $10 a session, you can jump up to 20 feet in the air and be an acrobat for a few minutes. Participant must be at least 30 pounds and not over 230 pounds. For more information call 415.981.6300.
If you like thrills, try Turbo Ride and sit in a hydraulic seat and enjoy the 3-D and 4-D shows. They offer three adventures including, Dino Island 11, Haunted Mine Ride and Extreme Log Ride. You’ll feel as if you’re in the movies yourself. The hydraulic seat moves simultaneously with the actions in the screen. Make sure to fasten your seatbelt.
