Gaslamp Quarter

The newly restored Victorian style buildings are a good sight to see when you’re strolling through the Gaslamp Quarter in Downtown San Diego. Its 16-½ blocks consists of many specialty shops, art galleries, boutiques, entertainment and some of the best restaurants in San Diego.

This historic street got its name from the old gaslamps that are still lining-up the sidewalks. The nightlife at Gaslamp Quarter is awesome. It’s an party. You’ll love it.

USS Midway

I remember watching the documentary movie about the USS Midway on the History channel prior to visiting.

I’ve always been so interested in aircraft carriers since I was a little girl. So when I took a trip to San Diego last year, I made sure that I went to the USS Midway. For an admission fee of $15, I went aboard the famous carrier.

Walking on the flight deck area was a dream come true. I saw a few aircraft fighter planes that were on display. Up on the flight deck you could see a panoramic view of the San Diego Harbor. It was breathtaking.

The carrier also features flight simulators. For $8, visitors can experience what it’s like to maneuver a fighter plane.

Souvenir shops and restaurants are also available for visitors.

Embarcadero

San Diego’s Embarcadero is one of the best scenery spots in Downtown. There’s a lot to see over there. Visitors can take a ferry ride to Coronado and go on one of the harbor tours.

You can’t leave Embarcadero without visiting the Seaport Village. They have an array of fine restaurants and shops.

Whether you’re in the mood for a strolling through the Gaslamp Quarter or experiencing a piece of our history or just simply enjoying the stunning view of the harbor, downtown San Diego has a little bit of everything.
